Chinese New Year's Eve 2012

We ushered in Chinese New Year with an evening filled with family, friends, food and CASH.

Ashley just changed into her Chinese evening wear.. and making an escape!

Turned out she needed to go shopping...(for an R2 D2?)

This is my surprised look when Ashley was about to spit out whatever was in her mouth.

Jimmy just got his red envelopes and was wondering, "What should I do with it all?"

Every Chinese New Year's Eve we play this dice game. 

It's serious gambling - we each put it AT LEAST $5.00.

So serious that Yolie can't stop laughing and Alex can't stop doing the chicken claw.

For the first time in history - I WON the dice game (with a mouthful of "prosperity cake" which gave me much luck in my gambling)

The next morning, Uncle Alex is telling Ashley that she will get to open her red envelopes.

She is VERY excited!

Teresa: "Here, this red envelope is for you!"

Ashley: "Why, you shouldn't have! For me?!?!"

Ashley: "Oh YES, you should have! $2 dollar bills - my favorite!"

Ashley: "Put it all over me!!"

Ashley: "Okay - get it off. Where's some of that prosperity cake?"
